Uniconazole is a broad-spectrum and highly effective plant growth regulator. It also possesses fungicidal and herbicidal properties. It acts as a gibberellin synthesis inhibitor. Uniconazole controls vegetative growth and inhibits cell elongation. It shortens internodes and dwarfs plants. It promotes lateral bud growth and flower bud formation. Additionally, it enhances resistance to stress. Uniconazole exhibits activity that is 6-10 times higher than that of paclobutrazol. However, it leaves only 1/10 of the soil residue compared to paclobutrazol, which leads to minimal effects on subsequent crops. Plants absorb it through seeds, roots, buds, and leaves. Uniconazole moves between different organs. However, it shows limited lateral movement through leaves. It demonstrates clear apical dominance.
Farmers use Uniconazole for rice and wheat. It increases tillering, controls plant height, and improves lodging resistance. Growers apply it in fruit trees to manage the shape of vegetative growth. In ornamental plants, Uniconazole helps control plant shape, promotes flower bud differentiation, and encourages multiple flowering.
1) Higher Activity: Uniconazole is also a gibberellin synthesis inhibitor. It controls vegetative growth, inhibits cell growth, shortens internodes, dwarfs plants, promotes lateral bud growth and flower bud formation, and enhances resistance to stress. Its activity is 6-10 times higher than that of paclobutrazol, making it more effective in regulating excessive growth.
2) Low Residue Level: The biological residue of Uniconazole in soil is only 1/5 to 1/3 that of paclobutrazol. Additionally, its efficacy diminishes more quickly, resulting in less impact on subsequent crops. When applied as a foliar spray, it has almost no effect on the next crop.
3) Increased Yield: Uniconazole not only inhibits vegetative growth but also promotes root growth and enhances photosynthetic efficiency while inhibiting respiration. It protects cell membranes and organelle membranes, improving the crop's resistance to stress. This significantly increases fruit-set rates and boosts soluble protein and total sugar content, greatly enhancing yield.
4) Disease Prevention and Control: Uniconazole also possesses fungicidal activity and can effectively control various diseases, including anthracnose, leaf spot, powdery mildew, and root rot.
