BPMC is the common English name for Fenobucarb It is a low-toxicity, non-systemic insecticide belonging to the carbamate class.
It primarily kills pests by inhibiting acetylcholinesterase in their bodies, leading to poisoning and death. It has strong contact action and exhibits some stomach toxicity, fumigation, and egg-killing effects.
BPMC is particularly effective against planthoppers and leafhoppers. It acts quickly to kill insects, but its residual effect is short, lasting only 4 to 5 days.
1. Planthopper: Apply the pesticide during the peak occurrence of young nymphs. Use 180-200g per acre of 20% Fenobucarb emulsifiable concentrate, focusing the spray on the lower part of the rice plants.
2. Leafhopper: Apply the pesticide during the peak occurrence of young nymphs. Use 50-75g per acre of 50% Fenobucarb emulsifiable concentrate for spraying, with an emphasis on the base of the stems in the early stages. After heading and filling, focus the spray on the ears and upper leaves.
3. Rice Leaf Folder: Apply the pesticide from the egg-hatching stage to the early larval stage. Use 150-180g per acre of 20% Fenobucarb emulsion for spraying, concentrating on the upper part of the rice plants.
When controlling pests in rice, maintain a water level of 3-5cm in the field for 3-5 days.
