The application period for Imazamox should be from when the soybean seedlings have developed two true leaves until the second trifoliate leaf has unfolded. It is important to note that grass weeds should be treated at the 2-4 leaf stage, while broadleaf weeds should be 2-7 centimeters tall. For controlling cocklebur, application should be done before the cocklebur reaches the 4-leaf stage, as the efficacy is poor for those that have not yet emerged. For controlling dayflower, the best time to apply is at the 2-leaf stage, as efficacy decreases after the 3-leaf stage.
For each acre, use 75-83 milliliters of a 4% Imazamox water solution (equivalent to 3-3.32 grams of active ingredient). When using lower doses, it is recommended to add 2% ammonium sulfate to the spray solution. Ensure that soil moisture is adequate, apply lower doses when weeds are actively growing and small, and use higher doses under dry conditions or when dealing with difficult-to-control weeds.
Application can be done either across the entire field or in seedling strips. For manual backpack sprayers, the spray volume should be 20-40 liters per acre, while for tractor-mounted sprayers, it should be 10-14 liters. Do not use ultra-low volume sprayers or backpack motorized sprayers for ultra-low volume applications, as high concentrations can cause phytotoxicity.
For manual spraying, select a fan-shaped nozzle and apply the herbicide row by row, maintaining consistent spray pressure, nozzle distance, ground height, and walking speed. Avoid fluctuations in height and speed during application, and do not sway side to side to ensure even coverage.
