Pymetrozine is a representative insecticide of the pyrid-ine heterocyclic class. It has a unique mode of action. Research shows that when aphids or planthoppers contact it, they almost immediately experience a stylet blocking effect. This leads to an instant cessation of feeding, ultimately resulting in starvation and death. This process is irreversible. Therefore, Pymetrozine has excellent insect virus transmission blocking capabilities.
Pymetrozine is a highly selective contact insecticide with good systemic activity. It can be transported in both xylem and phloem within plants. Thus, it can be used for foliar spraying and soil treatment. Due to its good transport characteristics, newly grown branches and leaves can also be effectively protected after stem and leaf spraying.
Dinotefuran mainly targets the insect nervous system. It causes paralysis in pests, leading to its insecticidal effects. It has a broad spectrum of activity and demonstrates excellent systemic penetration. Even at low doses, it shows high insecticidal activity.
It has contact and stomach toxicity. It is highly systemic and has a long residual effect. Compared to first and second-generation insecticides, it has a wider spectrum of action and is more convenient to use. It can overcome the resistance risks associated with first and second-generation insecticides.
Features of Dinotefuran
1. Broad Spectrum of Activity
Dinotefuran is highly effective against pests in crops such as wheat, rice, cotton, vegetables, fruit trees, and flowers, targeting Hemiptera, Lepidoptera, and Diptera.
2. Excellent Efficacy Against Sucking Pests
Dinotefuran shows high insecticidal activity even at low doses and provides excellent protection against sucking pests, primarily used to control aphids, leafhoppers, planthoppers, and whiteflies.
3. No Cross-Resistance
Dinotefuran belongs to the third generation of neonicotinoid insecticides and does not exhibit cross-resistance with other chemicals. It is also more effective against pests that have developed resistance to neonicotinoids.
4. Long Residual Effect
Dinotefuran has a residual effect that can last 4 to 8 weeks (theoretically up to 43 days), which reduces the likelihood of pest resurgence.
5. High Activity (Strong Penetration)
Dinotefuran exhibits high activity due to its strong penetration capabilities. It effectively moves from the leaf surface into the plant tissue, ensuring efficient pest control.Flonicamid has high penetration capabilities, allowing it to transfer effectively from the leaf surface to the interior. Even granular formulations can maintain stable efficacy in dry soil conditions (with soil moisture up to 5%).
Application of Pymetrozine
1. Root Drenching: pymetrozine has good systemic activity. It can be transported in both xylem and phloem within plants. During planting, use a 1000-fold dilution of 25% pymetrozine wettable powder for root drenching. It effectively controls aphids, planthoppers, and whiteflies, with a residual effect of about 50 days.
2. Spraying: For controlling vegetable aphids, whiteflies, rice planthoppers, and leafhoppers, apply 15-20 grams of 50% pymetrozine water-dispersible granules per mu. After application, the insects die slowly after feeding, averaging about 60% mortality by 3 days post-application, and over 95% by 7 days. The residual effect lasts more than 25 days.
Application of Dinotefuran
1. Control of Rice Planthoppers
(1) Application Method: Dissolve 20% Dinotefuran soluble granules in an appropriate amount of clean water, then spray onto the plants.
(2) Dosage: Generally, use 4-8 grams of the product per acre.
2. Control of Rice Stem Borers
(1) Application Method: Mix Dinotefuran (20% SG or 20% WP) with an appropriate amount of clean water, then apply as a foliar spray.
(2) Dosage: Generally, use 10 grams of the product per acre.
3. Control of Rice Leafhoppers
(1) Application Method: Mix Dinotefuran (10% SL) with an appropriate amount of clean water, then apply as a foliar spray.
(2) Dosage: Generally, use 10 grams of the product per acre.
4. Control of Cotton Aphids
(1) Application Method: Mix Dinotefuran (20% WP) with 15 liters of clean water, then apply as a foliar spray.
(2) Dosage: Generally, use 50-75 grams of the product per acre.
5. Control of Cotton Green Leafhoppers
(1) Application Method: Mix Dinotefuran (20% SG) with 30-40 liters of clean water, then apply as a foliar spray.
(2) Dosage: Generally, use 50-100 grams of the product per acre.
