Diazinon is an efficient and low-toxicity organophosphorus insecticide. It primarily kills pests by inhibiting the synthesis of acetylcholinesterase in their bodies. You can use it for foliar spraying to control various pests, including Lepidoptera and Hemiptera. Additionally, you can apply it for seed treatment and soil treatment to control underground pests.
1. Broad Insecticidal Spectrum: Diazinon granules are effective in controlling a variety of underground pests such as grubs, wireworms, needleworms, cutworms, rice stem borers, rice leafhoppers, armyworms, grasshoppers, root maggots, and insect eggs. They can also be used for preventing kernel loss in corn and controlling corn borers.
2. Quick Efficacy: Diazinon has contact, stomach, fumigation, and systemic action. Once applied to the soil, it can kill pests through various modes of action, and pests that ingest it can be eliminated within the same day, reducing their impact.
3. Long Residual Effect: Diazinon is stable in the soil and is not easily decomposed, dissolving in water. It not only controls underground pests in the current crop but also effectively kills other insect eggs that may be lurking in the soil, thereby reducing pest occurrence in subsequent crops.
4. Low Toxicity and Low Residue: Major soil treatment agents include high-toxicity granulated organophosphates such as phorate, carbofuran, aldicarb, and chlorpyrifos. Due to their high toxicity and residue levels, these have been phased out of the market. In contrast, dichlorvos is a low-toxicity soil treatment insecticide that has a mild odor, poses no risk to humans or livestock during use, and leaves no pesticide residue on crops, fully meeting the requirements for pollution-free agricultural production.
5. Extremely High Activity: Diazinon granules contain stabilizers and highly effective additives, with attapulgite clay as the carrier, which is currently the latest type of carrier for granules internationally. Produced using an adsorption method, it exhibits high activity and requires a small application amount of only 400-500 grams per acre for soil treatment. It is the preferred insecticide to replace high-toxicity pesticides in China.

Application
1. 40% Diazinon Emulsifiable Concentrate for Foliar Spray
The application of a 40% diazinon emulsifiable concentrate for foliar spraying effectively controls pests such as rice stem borers on crops like corn and vegetables, with a long residual effect. It is particularly effective against fly species.
2. Application of 10% Diazinon Granules
(1) Control of Underground Pests in Tobacco
The main underground pests affecting tobacco include grubs, cutworms, and crickets, which can cause significant damage. During the transplanting of tobacco, apply 0.5-1 gram of 10% diazinon granules per plant as a side dressing, then cover with soil and water. This method allows for effective contact and fumigation action to eliminate pests.
(2) Control of Underground Pests in Sugarcane
For newly planted sugarcane, after sowing, mix 2 kg of 10% diazinon granules with 5 kg of fine soil and apply it in the planting furrows, covering with soil. This effectively kills underground pests, protecting the roots and buds of the sugarcane. For ratoon sugarcane, in early spring during soil loosening and at the bud sprouting stage, mix 2-3 kg of 10% diazinon granules with 10 kg of fine soil and apply it around the roots, then loosen the soil to bury the treated soil around the roots for effective contact and fumigation.
(3) Control of Mango Root Mealybugs and Apple Root Aphids
During winter soil management for fruit trees, after digging around the roots, mix 2-3 kg of 10% diazinon granules with 10 kg of fine soil, applying 300-500 grams per tree into the dug soil, and then dig it in again to incorporate the treated soil.
(4) Control of Yellow Ants in Marigolds and Other Crops
In the cultivation of marigolds and other crops, local damage from yellow ants can be severe. Use 1-2 kg of 10% diazinon granules mixed with 5-10 kg of fine soil per acre, applying it around the roots after transplanting marigolds, then cover with soil, water, and apply a mulch.
