Thiophanate-methyl is a substituted benzimidazole fungicide. It is highly effective and low in toxicity. Users can apply it through foliar spraying, seed treatment, and soil application.

After application, part of it converts to carbendazim on the plant surface, which provides good protection. Another part gets absorbed into the plant and converts to carbendazim as well.
