Penconazole acts as a sterol demethylation inhibitor. It disrupts ergosterol biosynthesis, a key component of the fungal cell membrane. This disruption prevents cell membrane formation and leads to fungal death.
Penconazole differs from other triazole fungicides. It has been modified to reduce gibberellin inhibition at the top of the plant. This modification makes it safer for crops. Thus, it has a milder inhibitory effect when controlling crop diseases.
When sprayed on plant leaves, prochloraz kills existing diseases. It also forms a protective film on the leaf surface. This film provides long-lasting disease prevention. Penconazole has excellent systemic absorption. The active ingredient penetrates various parts of the plant. This movement allows the solution to quickly reach disease targets within plant tissues. 1. To prevent and control grape white rot, begin application at the early onset of the disease. A spray of 10% Penconazole emulsion diluted to 2500 times is recommended, with a residual efficacy period of up to 15 days.
