Bensulfuron-Methyl is a selective systemic conductive herbicide. It spreads rapidly in water and is absorbed by roots and leaves of weeds and transferred to other parts, hindering the biosynthesis of branched-chain amino acids. The growth function of sensitive weeds is blocked, the young tissues yellow prematurely, and the growth of leaves and roots is inhibited. It can effectively control 1-year and perennial broad-leaved weeds and sedge in paddy field, and can be absorbed by roots and leaves of weeds and transferred to other parts. It is safe for rice and flexible in use.
Pretilachlor is a highly selective herbicide specifically designed for rice fields. It is safe for rice and has a broad spectrum of weed control. Weed seeds absorb the herbicide during the germination process, while root absorption is relatively poor. It can only be used for pre-emergence soil treatment. Rice is also quite sensitive to Pretilachlor during its germination period. To ensure safety during early applications, Pretilachlor is often used in combination with the safener CGA123407. It is suitable for controlling annual grasses and broadleaf weeds in rice, including barnyard grass, water grass, goosegrass, narrow-leaved cattail, water spinach, different types of sedges, rice flatsedge, smartweed, and duckweed.
Application of Bensulfuron-Methyl
Rice direct seeding field: it can be applied after sowing to within the 2-leaf stage of weeds. To prevent and eliminate 1-year-old broadleaf weeds and sedge, use 20-30 grams of 10% wettable powder per mu, spray 30 kilograms of water or mix 20 kilograms of fine moist soil and spread. Keep the water layer 3-5cm during application for 3-4 days.
Rice transplanting field: 3 weeks before and after transplanting can be used, but 5-7 days after transplanting is better. Use 20-30 grams of 10% wettable powder per mu to prevent and eliminate perennial weeds and barnyard grass, the dosage can be increased to 30-50 grams. The water layer is 5cm, which can be sprayed with water or mixed with fine soil. Keep the water layer for 3-4 days and dry naturally.
Wheat field: use 10% bensulfuron-Methyl 30-40g per mu with water spray when the weeds are in the 2-3 leaf stage and the soil is wet. The active ingredient of the drug diffuses rapidly in water, the temperature and soil quality have little effect on the effect of weed control, and the mobility in the soil is small. The soil must be moist when used in wheat fields, if the soil is dry, the preventive effect is lower.
Application of Pretilachlor
Pretilachlor can control weeds such as Cyperus difformis, barnyard grass, duckweed, and shepherd's purse in rice fields. It is a selective pre-emergence herbicide and a cell division inhibitor. Weeds absorb the herbicide through the lower and middle parts of the embryo axis and the coleoptile, interfering with protein synthesis and indirectly affecting the photosynthesis and respiration of the weeds. Generally, it is applied through soil treatment to control barnyard grass, duckweed, Cyperus difformis, motherwort, barnyard grass, water fern, and bulrush in rice fields, but it is less effective against perennial weeds. The recommended dosage is 4.5 to 5.3 g/100 m². For rice seedling fields or direct-seeded fields, use 15 to 17 mL of Pretilachlor 30% emulsion per 100 m², applied as a water spray or mixed with toxic soil. In southern or subtropical regions, use the lower limit of the dosage; in northern regions, testing should be conducted before application.Pretilachlor is a selective pre-emergence herbicide and a cell division inhibitor. It is used for soil treatment and can control barnyard grass, Cyperus difformis, barnyard grass, duckweed, and narrow-leaved cattail in rice fields. When used alone, it has poor selectivity for wet-seeded rice, but when used in combination with safener, it exhibits excellent selectivity for direct-seeded rice.
