Metribuzin is a selective, systemic herbicide that can be used on crops such as soybeans, potatoes, tomatoes, alfalfa, peas, carrots, sugarcane, bamboo shoots, and pineapples to control various broadleaf and grassy weeds. It can be applied as a pre-emergence or post-emergence herbicide to manage a wide range of broadleaf and grassy weeds in fields of asparagus, alfalfa, potatoes, soybeans, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, and other crops.
Metribuzin is highly effective against weeds such as smartweed, amaranth, lambsquarters, shepherd's purse, wild sesame, purslane, wild carrot, and field bindweed. It has moderate efficacy against burdock and black nightshade, and some effectiveness against foxtail, barnyard grass, crabgrass, wild oats, and wild barley, but is generally ineffective against perennial weeds. It can also control algae.
